Just a thought
Related to country: Canada

Up north, Canada has unveiled a programme that, it is hoped, will tackle poverty among aboriginal communities: the Inuit and "Indians" (does it make sense to still use this word today?).

Will this programme actually be implemented? If yes just how much will it achieve? And how much of a precedent will it set for other nations?

One year later:
A colleague made an interesting observation. Apparently, when Canadians talk about indigenous communities, they tend to refer to specific nations rather than to the generic "Native Americans". The latter designation is more often made by US Americans. I wonder what that's a reflection of. Population dynamics, perhaps? A different historical experience of racism? I wonder how "integrationist" and "assimilationist" policies compare between the 2 countries.
